Sport climbing and thunderstorms

After a leisurely morning clare and I figured we should do something productive. We took a trip down from our campsite at the top of the Furka Pass to Gletsch for a climb (This is also a good place to get water - fountain behind the tourist info!!). The walk out from there to the crags near the waterfalls of the Rhone glacier is worth it in it self as it's particularly pretty. With some route finding a stunning Crag can be found though!

There's a healthy mix of climbs and the one's we did were lovely! Clare hit a couple of PB's: hardest sport lead and hardest clean second. Good stuff all round... until the rain hit!

The rain came suddenly, rapidly becoming a rather intense thunderstorm. Definitely more than the forecast showers! Hail the size of marbles turns out to be quite sore, even through clothing!

Thankfully this evening is a little less wet and we have dried off since the last photo.

Good night!
